The annual Layne Staley Tribute is happening this Friday, August 24th at the Showbox! You can see the details here from our website published in March; https://nehistripes.com/2018/03/11/the-2018-layne-staley-tribute-announced-for-august/

Most events are starting on Thursday August 23rd. Alice In Chains recently announced a Pop-Up Shop and Retrospective event for Thursday and Friday. Here’s the event link on Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/events/1895206804115851/?ti=ia
Also on Thursday is the annual Seattle Center Fountain Gathering for Layne Staley starting at 6.30pm this year (normally at 7pm) and runs until 8pm. This is a tradition where fans come together and sing, share and visit one another. Here’s the Seattle Center’s website address; http://www.seattlecenter.com – note the gathering will not be listed on the website, it’s a well known gathering that does not need preplanning or notification to the location, it’s open to the public.
Later the same night is “A Night at The Off Ramp”. That starts at 8pm and doors open at 7pm. Here’s the Facebook event link; https://www.facebook.com/events/153742045344963/?ti=ia
On Friday August 24th, you should explore some of the sites in Seattle; like Gas Works Park; http://www.seattle.gov/parks/find/parks/gas-works-park. Mother Love Bone and Alice In Chains (plus many others) had photo shoots done here.

You can also try and look for the famous apartment complex from the movie “Singles”. The Coryell Court apartment building is located at 1820 E. Thomas Ave on the corner of 19th and E. Thomas Ave in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Please remember that people live there, so you’ll want to respect their privacy if you stop by.

Next is probably the most important place to visit if you want to see some truly spectacular unseen Alice In Chains photos from 1988-1993; including photos of Mother Love Bone and Chris Cornell.
Photographer and my friend Paul Hernandez has re-emerged with black and white photos that will blow your mind! I’ve seen them all and have spent one on one time with Paul to get the stories behind the photos. Those stories will be included in an upcoming article about Paul and his long history with Alice In Chains. Paul has a showing of these photos at the Seattle Mainframe Gallery. The event is going on until October 7th.
You can find Seattle Mainframe info here; https://www.seattlemainframe.com – their hours are Wednesday-Sunday 11-6pm. I strongly urge everyone to see these photos.
The Layne Staley Tribute event is next up starting at 8:00pm the same night at The Showbox! Here’s the event link on Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/events/1168652399935261/?ti=ia

Now if you’re still up for more, Alice In Chains is in concert Saturday August 25th at White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA. KISW 99.9FM puts on Pain in the Grass every summer. Here’s the event poster (note Sunday’s event has been cancelled). For more information on Alice In Chains’ concert, go to-
