Join us as we celebrate the life, music, and legacy of Layne Staley and Mike Starr at the annual tribute show that is held in Seattle, WA each August near Layne’s birthday. All proceeds from the tribute weekend will be donated to the Layne Staley Memorial Fund benefiting Therapeutic Health Services (THS), an addiction and recovery organization working to help those struggling with addiction and supporting those on the path to recovery throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Special Guests for Friday, August 23rd’s ‘Grunge Night; a Tribute to Seattle Music early show at the Crocodile, will feature Outshined (Tribute to Soundgarden), Washed in Black (Tribute to Pearl Jam), and special guests. They will perform songs that defined the Seattle Sound.

Opiate addiction is a current and ongoing major health concern in the greater Seattle area, and the Layne Staley Tribute is our ongoing commitment to raising awareness of the opiate epidemic and the related resources that are available to those in our communities, in need of empathy, assistance, and support.
Layne Staley Tribute 2024 will consist of two shows, the main tribute night on Saturday, August 24th at The Neptune Theatre in the University District in Seattle, WA. On Friday, August 23rd, Grunge Night – A Tribute to Seattle Music will be held at The Crocodile in Downtown Seattle, WA.
Additionally, a fan-organized gathering at the Seattle Center International Fountain will occur at 6:30pm on Thursday, August 22nd, on the date of Layne’s birth. I’ll provide a separate article post for that event, along with safety trips for those coming outside of Washington state.

Last years Layne Staley Tribute (2023), $6,000 was raised. That amount was the most money contributed from a Layne Staley Tribute. That money is donated to the Layne Staley Memorial Fund, through Therapeutic Health Services. The goal of the fund is to help the musician in need and provide support to their families. It was Nancy’s (Layne’s mom) goal when the fund was started in 2002 and it’s the same goal today. Let’s see if we can surpass that amount this year.
Photographer Paul Hernandez, (the first photographer to ever photograph Alice In Chains) will have images available for purchase at the main tribute on Saturday, August 24th. I will also have some Layne and Demri thick board tags for sale in various sizes. Both Paul’s and my selected offerings will be available on the merchandise table at the designated area inside the Neptune Theatre.
We are still working out the merchandise that will have Karmann’s design on the items selected. Once I have the final information, I’ll provide that on social media.
